Cybersecurity compliance is not only required, but heavily enforced.

Aerojet Rocketdyne falsely represented their compliance with multiple cybersecurity regulations. A suit was filed based on this information by a whistleblower in 2015. 7 years, and many hefty legal fees later, the allegations were resolved for the sum of almost 10 Million USD.

Cybersecurity companies are not only responsible for effective services to protect it’s users. They are also held to a higher standard of accountability. Compliance regulations are in place to ensure not just better practices, but best practices. Meeting these regulations is not a choice. Companies who do not adhere to them will pay the price.
